The time is almost upon us, my friends: SQL Saturday time! The event is returning to the DC area on November 5th, and it’s going to be one hell of a shindig.
Location
Microsoft Technology Center
5404 Wisconsin Ave, Suite 700
Chevy Chase, MD 20815
- Honestly, your best bet is to use the Metro. Microsoft is literally positioned on top of the Friendship Heights station on the Red Line.
- If you feel like driving, that’s okay too. There should be plenty of cheap-ish parking available at the Mazza Gallery garage nearby.
- If you are flying in for the event, you’ll want to use DCA (AKA – Reagan). It’s the closest airport and it’s on the Metro.
What to Expect
You should definitely check out the schedule for full details, but I’ll break down the basics. 6 tracks times 6 sessions per track equals 36 quality learning opportunities.
We’ve got tracks for DBAs; for Developers; for the BI folks; for people interested in SANs, virtualization, and Denali; and Professional Development too. We’ve got speakers both local and national. We’ve got networking and a free lunch.
This is all due, of course, to the wondrous generosity of our sponsors. Be sure to check them out at the event – Microsoft, Idera, Confio, Fusion-IO, Quest Software, PASS, Redgate, the Capital PC User’s Group, Apress, O’Reilly, Wrox, CozyRoc, and MSSQLTips. And of course, our blog sponsors: Tim Radney, Shannon Lowder, and Aaron Nelson.
While You’re in Town
Be sure to fill out your weekend by doing some of the following:
- Food trucks are teh new hotness here is DC. See if you can’t find them for a tasty treat on the street.
- If you’re an art appreciator, you could go to the Hirshhorn Museum to check out the Warhol exhibit.
- Like to combine politics and showmanship? (Too late, I know…) You could catch the area’s famed Capitol Steps performing their skits and songs.
But whatever you do, do not forget to register for SQL Saturday #96 today!
